The 74th Fighter Squadron (74 FS) is part of the 23d Wing at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. It operates the A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft conducting close air support missions.

Mission

History

The 74th saw combat in the China-Burma-India Theater from, 16 July 1942–10 August 1945. It participated in air defense from, 1946–1949 and 1951–1958.
