Harold George Howe

Harold George Howe

Harold George Howe (born 6 Oct 1906 at Norris's Kiln, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England, died 27 April 1976) was one of Hemel Hempstead's first professional footballers.

He started his playing career with Apsley and signed professional forms for Watford Football Club at the age of 20. At the height of his career he played for Queens Park Rangers F.C. and later Crystal Palace F.C.. After a a spell with Rochdale Football Club he finished his playing career with Tunbridge Wells F.C. in the Southern League.

After retiring from football, Mr. Howe remained a keen sportsman taking up golf and darts. He became a prominent darts player winning the News of the World individual area championship.

Mr. Howe is survived by 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren.
