NSW Waratahs rugby union club in theSuper 14 competition. [ [http://www.nswrugby.com.au/HSBCWaratahs/PlayerProfiles/SekopeKepu.aspx HSBC Waratahs Player Profiles] ] He made his debut during the 2008 season.Giant loose head prop Sekope Kepu comes to the HSBC Waratahs with big wraps upon him, having represented New Zealand at U17, 19 and 21 level.Born in Sydney to Tongan parents, Kepu spent his early years in the northern NSW town of Glen Innes before relocating to New Zealand while still a youngster. He captained the Wesley College first XV – the alma mater of All Black great Jonah Lomu – from the number eight position in 2004, before switching to the front row in 2005.
A member of the Chiefs wider training group between 2005 and 2007 and a stand out for Counties Manukau in the Air New Zealand Cup in 2006, a broken collarbone ruined his 2007 season and saw him end the year without a Super 14 contract. Sensing an opportunity in Sydney Kepu jumped at the chance and is keen to get his first taste of Super Rugby in 2008.
