ProcessMaker is commercial open source business process management software designed for Microsoft Windows and Linux environments that aims to allow private and public organizations to increase efficiency through the automation of workflow.

The software includes tools to enable efficient and effective management of operational processes across systems including finance, human resources and operations. This allows business managers and process experts to model and automate everyday processes with no programming experience necessary.

ProcessMaker has been used for a variety of processes, from simple administrative functions such as an expenses approval or a new equipment procurement processes, to more complex workflows that are specific to a business, for example bug reporting or new feature requests in a software development company. By automating these processes, ProcessMaker increases transparency and radically reduces paperwork.

ProcessMaker includes tools to design forms, create documents, assign roles and users, create routing rules, interconnect with third-party systems, and to map an individual process quickly and easily. The application is web-based, so it makes working across different offices and geographic locations simple. It connects with existing databases, customer relationship management (CRM), business intelligence (BI), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and document management systems (DMS) including KnowledgeTree.
