Bidirectional Associative Memory usually referred to as BAM is a type of recurrent neural network. BAM was discovered by Kosko in 1988.Fact|date=October 2008 There are two types, auto and hetero.
Topology
It contains two layers of neurons that recursively send information between each other. Input layer sends results to the output layer using same weighted edges. And output layer sends results back to the input layer using same weighted edges.
The matrix in the forward pass is reversed for the back propagation and there is no mechanism for back propagation.
