Parliamentary elections were held in Tonga on January 24 and January 25 1996 to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga [ [http://www.tongatapu.net.to/tonga/homeland/election.htm Tongan election results 1996 - 1998] ] . The nobles were elected on January 24, and the nine people's representatives on January 25.
