In 1952 the Winnipeg Canadiens were bought and renamed the St. Boniface Canadiens.
The St. Boniface Canadiens were a
Manitoba Junior Hockey League Team. The St. Boniface Canadiens won 4Turnbull Cup Championships as Manitoba Junior Champions, 1953, 1954, 1956, & 1958.The 1953 St. Boniface Canadiens won the
Abbott Cup by defeating theLethbridge Native Sons . They went on to lose theMemorial Cup to theBarrie Flyers . The Flyers' roster included Don Cherry who scored two goals in the final series against the Canadiens.The 1953 St. Boniface Canadiens were inducted into the
Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in the team category.St. Boniface Canadiens become the Winnipeg Warriors from 1964-65 to 1966-67.
During the summer of 1967, community-minded sports group purchased the Winnipeg Warriors from
