Steven Istead (born 23 April 1986 in South Shields) is an English footballer who is currently without a club after leaving Scottish club fc|Peterhead.

He began his career with fc|Newcastle United but left without making a first-team appearance, signing for fc|Hartlepool United in 2002. He held the record for the youngest player to ever play for Hartlepool United until it was beaten in 2004 by striker David Foley. After his release from Hartlepool in 2006, he played for non-league clubs fc|Gateshead and Consett. He signed for Peterhead in 2007, where his former fc|Hartlepool United boss Neale Cooper was coach.
