"Love on Your Side - The Best of Thomson Twins" ia a double compilation (total running time: 152'58" minutes), including 2 CDs with 36 tracks by British pop rock/synthpop/new wave band Thompson Twins, released in 2007. Next to all of their numerous hits, this exhaustive collection also contains many stand-out tracks and, most notably, most of the tracks which made up their ideal trilogy of smash albums: "Quick Step and Side Kick", possibly their most creative long playing work, released in 1983, "Into The Gap", originally out in 1984, their commercial masterpiece undoubtedly, and the slightly less lucky, but critically acclaimed "Here's to Future Days" of 1985. The recent double greatest hits collection covers all of the group's line-ups, from the early big band through the commercially successful three-piece group to the ultimate duo made up by then husband and wife Tom Bailey and Alannah Currie, who wrote most of the songs by the band, a number of them along with percussionist Joe Leeway, who left their colleagues some time in 1986. The first of the two CDs opens with the original version of "In the Name of Love", their first big hit in 1982, and closes with the 1988 remix of the same track, simply entitled "In the Name of Love '88". This song was also very important in the band's musical history, because it was after its success that Bailey, Currie and Leeway decided to go on as a three-piece group, firing the other members, who had actually co-written the tune itself.
