San Francisco is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Agusan del Sur,
Philippines . According to the2000 census, it has a population of 56,968 people in 10,717 households.Barangays
San Francisco is the Leading Commercial center in Agusan del Sur!Its financial district is subdivided into 5 – Barangays 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5. It houses four (4) prominent banks namely PNB, MetroBank, DBP, & LandBank (the only place in the province that contains more than two National Banks). SanFranz, as its nickname, has the highest concentration of fashion boutiques, fast-food Restaurants (preferred by Jollibee over the capital town and the only city in the province), Drugstores & most other commercial establishments. It is well served by road links & it has the busiest Bus Terminal in the province. Its commercial activity does also involve within the so-called Greater SF Area (SanFranz, Barobo, Lianga, Rosario, Patin-ay, Bahbah).San Francisco is a home to several educational institutions such as STI, SF Xavier College, SF Colleges, SOCOTECH, Mt. Carmel College (for Tertiary), Agusan Del Sur National High School & Father Urios High School (for secondary). San Francisco is a “Stone’s Throw” away from Philippine Normal University, D.O. Plaza Medical Center-the most modern medical institution in the province, Agusan del Sur Government Center, Agusan del Sur Sports Complex, & Agusan del Sur Convention Center? (what's this?).Traveling from the Northern part, San Francisco’s welcoming committee includes the majestic shape of Mt. Magdiwata, the artistic design of SanFrancisco Municipal Hall, & a 100-yr old virgin forest of Pisa-an. Transporting from the south, on the other hand, one of Southeast Asia’s largest palm oil plantation and the Cold Spring Resorts that line up along the MagDiwata Hills give a peek to visitors of San Francisco’s tourist attractions. & coming from the east, a Giant Toog Tree in Alegria stuns everyone.
