He is a member of theNational Soccer Hall of Fame .Beardsworth played for two youth clubs while growing up. He joined Farington Villa of the Preston and District League in 1908 when he was nine. In 1909, he joined Leyland Town of the
West Lancashire League . In 1914, Beardsworth and his family left England to emigrate to theUnited States . When he arrived in the U.S., he joined theNew Bedford Whalers of theSouthern New England Soccer League , winning the 1915 and 1917 league championships. In 1917, he moved to Fore River. The team went to the1918 National Challenge Cup , losing toBethlehem Steel F.C. . In 1919, he moved toBrooklyn Robins Dry Dock of theNational Association Football League . Robins won the 1920 and1921 American Cup titles. In 1921, he moved to the amateur Booth Mill of the New Bedford Industrial League then played forSaylesville F.C. of the Southern New England League.External links
