In 2002, Gauthier began her training in sketch and improv at The Second City Chicago, where she would go on to become one of the original House Ensemble cast members for the company.Fact|date=August 2008

In 2005, Gauthier started her career in stand-up comedy. She was in the 2005 and 2006 Chicago Sketch Festivals.Fact|date=August 2008
