Tony Sakkis

Anthony "Tony" Sakkis (born August 7, 1960) has been a motorsports writer since 1984. He began writing for Bob Hagin and Pacheco Automotive News Service in Concord, California, which eventually expanded to 110 newspapers across the United States. His first solo column was in 1986 with "Vallejo Times-Herald" in Northern California. Eventually wrote for nearly every paper in the San Francisco Bay Area. Spent five years with the "San Francisco Examiner", five years with the "San Francisco Chronicle" and three years with the Oakland Tribune Group. Currently working as the motor sport columnist for the "Galveston County Daily News". Sakkis has written for many other publications, including "Autoweek" and "Cycle News". Sakkis has also gone on to publish more than 10 books.

Personal life

Sakkis is married to his wife, Eva, whom he met in the press room of the F1 Mexican Grand Prix in 1987. Together they have two children, Nick and Alexandra. Sakkis received his bachelor's degree in history from the University of California at Berkeley. Sakkis and his family currently reside in south Texas.
