display=Side-scroller Block Dude is the name of a
calculator game developed by Detached Solutions and programmed by Brandon Sterner. The game is a side-scrollerlogic puzzle in which the player must use a small character known as "Block Dude" to move blocks in a way that he can climb over bricks, walk across holes, and make it to the door at the end of the level. The game is divided into eleven levels, rising in difficulty as the number gets bigger. Level one is the simplest, while level eleven is the hardest. Players can access levels by typing in passwords at the start menu.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Block Dude is simple, since it was made to be only a logic puzzle. Block Dude must move blocks to climb towers, fill in holes, and make it to the door at the end of the level. However, if you accidentally get stuck, then you have to quit and start over from the beginning. Levels get harder each time.
Bricks are the only stable obstacle. They are immovable and are what makes up most of the area. Movable blocks surround the level and are sometimes stacked up to make towers. The only way to get across towers of bricks is by arranging blocks into a staircase. Bricks can also make "holes" that can only be crossed if Block Dude can fill them with blocks.
