Biography

Lau is an Arizona native. Following her degree in Art History, Lau received a Masters in Fine and Decorative Arts from Sotheby’s graduate program where she studied with leading curators, art historians, and industry professionals.

Career

Lau's curatorial eye and deep passion for design were put to use at Aero Ltd., where she served as director under founder Thomas O’Brien. She was subsequently appointed design director of New York City’s noted Lin-Weinberg Gallery, which specialized in international mid-century modernism. Lau founded her New York-based interiors firm in 2001.

Lau is a speaker and panelist for design schools and events across the country. She also provides design expertise for Better Homes and Gardens' better.tv.

Honors and Awards

New York magazine included Lau as one of 2008's “Next Garde,” and House Beautiful named her a young designer to watch. Traditional Home recognized her as a “Fresh Design” honoree, and Metropolitan Home included her work in its “Who’s Next” young-designer issue.
