The original eighteen holes follow a course through stands of oak and poplar before reaching the remains of an old quarry. In July of 1998, the Desert Nine opened for play.

The course has four sets of tee boxes that can accommodate all skill levels. Realizing that there are golfers participating in tournaments that are beginners, Quarry Oaks developed the Green Tee system. All the par fours and par fives have a Green Tee sign that has been placed approximately half way down the length of these holes. If golfers find the course too long or if they feel they are holding up their playing partners, they can play from the Green Tees which provide a course length that matches their skill level.
