Adanaspor Rıdvan Dilmen (born on
August 14 ,1962 inAydın ) is a Turkish footballer that played in theTurkish Super League .Dilmen made his debut with Nazillispor in 1977. He transferred to
Muğlaspor in 1979 and became known for his scoring skills inBoluspor between 1980-1983. He signed forFenerbahçe , when in 1987, after playing for Sarıyer between 1983-1987 and became one of the symbol players of Fenerbahçe and Turkish football. He also played for Turkish national team.Dilmen was nicknamed "Şeytan Rıdvan" ("Ridvan the Devil") mostly for his wits, immense speed with the ball and stupendous fakes. Dilmen stated that he disliked the nickname "Şeytan", and so the nickname is never been used since then.
He was the main actor of the 1988-89 Turkish League Season, which Fenerbahçe reached the title with a record number of goals (103) at the league's history. In the 1988-1989 season, he scored 19 goals and made 41 assists. After getting injured in 1990 against
Trabzonspor by the Serbian defenderMiodrag Ješić , he never fully recovered. Although he had sixteen operations Ridvan failed to fulfill the expectations after his injury. He retired in 1995 at Fenerbahçe after painful years of injuries.Dilmen worked as a manager for
Vanspor in 1997-98 season. When he started, although it was almost mid season, Vanspor had zero points. His club finished the season as champions of Turkish Second League. He then became Fenerbahçe football teams manager in 2000. However, his stay only lasted five weeks. He resigned as Fenerbahçe was eliminated fromUEFA Cup at an early stage. Dilmen was also employed as a manager forAltay SK andAdanaspor . So far, he doesn't have a successful managing career as he was expected to deliver.Dilmen is also working as a commentator and a sportswriter. He is considered to be a football genius and one of the best commentators alive in Turkey.
Currently, Dilmen is one of the top favourites to coach the
