Biography

The amazing and talented Romina Arena has overcome adversity to become a true star. At the age of sixteen she suffered a vicious attack at the hands of a jealous entertainer in Italy who lured her into his dressing room ostensibly to thank her for "saving" a concert in which she had performed as an opening act. There he proceeded to scream at her for "humiliating him", beat and kicked her repeatedly and then cut her throat severing her vocal cords. The attack rendered her comatose for more than 18 months but she completely recovered to become a European superstar. She was told by her physicians that she would never be able to sing again but not only did she fully regain her vocal abilities but a strange side effect of the attack was that she developed an extraordinary five octave vocal range as a result of the trauma to her pharynx. It is her powerful POPERA style (pop meets classical) that makes her unique and without compare and she is considered the first and only female POPERA singer in the world. Her talents as a singer, actress, composer, writer and producer have captured the attention of Hollywood. It is her ability to sing, speak and write music fluently in nine different languages, English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese Greek and Bulgarian that allowed her to open many doors to the International music market as well as the United States.

Some of Romina’s notable accomplishments include: • Four number #1 singles in four different countries, Japan “Subaru”, Australia “As Beautiful as You”, Germany “As Beautiful as You” and Italy “Una Vita Senza Vita” from San Remo Festival 1994 Complation. • Sold over (4) Four Million Records Worldwide• Receiving a lifetime achievement gold record “RAI International “ from Italy for her contributions to the music industry in Europe. • Winner of the International San Remo Festival (equivalent to the American Grammy Awards)

Music has been the vibration of her life since she was just a child. Romina was a Mouseketeer for Disney's Mickey Mouse club in Italy, and performed as a classical ballerina in the major Italian theatres at the tender age of seven. Romina continues to write music for film soundtracks, TV shows and recently placed the rock song “Satellite” as the theme song for a popular video game developed by Microsoft “Gotham Racing 2”. She is currently working on her personal autobiography about her life story, which will also be made into a major motion picture and is in development of several other movie and television projects.
