District Demographics
The Iroquois Central School District is a large school district about 14 outside of Buffalo, New York that consists of about 84 square miles of land in the towns of Elma, Marilla, Wales, Aurora, Lancaster, and Bennington. The district consists of about 2,895 students in six schools. The superintendent of schools is Mr. Neil Rochelle. The assistant superintendent is former Principal of the Middle School Mr. Brian Wiesinger. The district was founded in 1955.
Schools
Iroquois High School
The High School is located in Elma, New York. It is located on the main Iroquois Campus. It consists of grades nine through twelve. The building Principal is Mr. Dennis Kenney. The two Assistant Principals are Mr. Ross Esslinger and Mrs. Anne Obersheimer.
Iroquois Middle School
The Middle School is located on the main Iroquois Campus. It consists of grades six through eight. The building Principal is Mrs. Ann Marie Spitzer. The Assistant Principal is Mr. Patrick O'Brien.
Iroquois Intermediate
The Intermediate Building is located on the main Iroquois Campus between the Middle and High Schools. The building consists of grades four through five. The building Principal is Mrs. Donna Eno.
Elma Primary
Elma Primary is the one of the three primary schools. It is located at 711 Rice Road in Elma, New York. It consists of grades K-3. The Principal is Mrs. Mrs. Darcy Walker
Marilla Primary
Marilla Primary is located in Marilla, New York at 11683 Bullis Road. It consists of grades K-3. The Principal is Mrs. Regina Becker.
Wales Primary
Wales Primary is located in East Aurora, New York. It consists of grades K-3. The building Principal is Mrs. Kim Oar.
Capital Improvement Project
The district has plans to rennovate parts of each school. It is unknown to the public yet exactly what will be done, however it is known that the science wing of the High School will be rennovated. The plans will be announced at every school in October. The plans will be part of the 2008 budget.
Business First Ranking
In recent years, the district has been on the honor roll of Buffalo Business First WNY Schools Ratings which are based on test scores. In 2008 it was ranked ninth. The high school was ranked eighth among public high schools, and the middle school was ranked tenth among public middle schools.
