Brian Goodell

Brian Stuart Goodell (born April 2, 1959 in Stockton, California) is an American swimmer and olympic champion. He competed at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, where he received a gold medal in "400 m freestyle", and a gold medal in "1500 m freestyle". He received a silver medal in "1500 m freestyle" at the 1975 World Aquatics Championships in Cali.

He attended college at the University of California, Los Angeles, winning nine National Collegiate Athletic Association individual championships. Goodell held the world record in 400 m freestyle, long course from 18 June 1976 to 6 April 1979, and the world record in 1500 m freestyle, long course from 1976 to 1980.
