The 1992-93 season was the Hornets 5th NBA season. Alonzo Mourning was drafted in the first round by the Hornets. The Charlotte Hornets become the first of the four expansion franchises to win a playoff series as Alonzo Mourning sinks a 20-foot jumper at the buzzer in Game 4 of their first round playoff series against the Boston Celtics.
