Recoil (magazine)

Recoil (magazine)

Recoil Magazine is Grand Rapids, Michigan based monthly magazine that provides satirical or "fake" news, in addition to local and regional reviews of albums, books, and other media. They have both printed and on-line versions of the magazine.

Content Details

The magazine is printed with two "front" pages, rather than the more traditional "front to back" style of most magazines. One front page is the "news" portion of the magazine, and the other front page contains the "music" section.

The "news" section contains several fictional stories, editorials from local contributors (these tend to be either political, religious, or current affairs pieces), and a horoscope. The "news" section features also a crossword, and has space dedicated each month for new "bushisms", or quotes from George W. Bush.

The "music" section has interviews, reviews, and a schedule of local musical events. The reviews and interviews are of local, regional, and national musicians, and generally correspond with the musician's appearance at a local venue.
