Joe Estevez

Joseph "Joe" Estevez (born February 13, 1950) is an American actor.

He is the younger brother of actor Martin Sheen and the uncle of Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Renée Estevez and Ramon Estevez

Estevez was born in Dayton, Ohio. As a child, Estevez lived on Brown Street in the South Park neighborhood of Dayton. He is one of ten children, nine boys and one girl, born to a Catholic, Spanish-born father, Francisco Estevez, and an Irish mother, Mary Anne Phelan.

Estevez attended Chaminade High School, a Catholic High School located in Dayton, Ohio. Upon his graduation, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy.

At the point Estevez began pursuing his acting career, he initially used the name Joe Phelan. Phelan is his mother's maiden name. He eventually returned to using his given name, Estevez.

He is a frequently featured star and co-star of independent film productions. In addition, he has embraced a career as a voice over artist.

Joe Estévez's acting roots are on the stage. Whenever time permits, he returns to performing in the theater.

When Martin Sheen suffered a heart attack while acting in "Apocalypse Now" Joe Estevez stood in for him in a number of long shots and in some of the voice overs.

Estevez has been in two movies featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000: "Werewolf" (widely considered one of the funniest episodes of the series) and "Soultaker" (the tenth season premiere).
