Shaoguan prefecture,Guangdong .Pingshi was called Pingshi county (平石县, literally "flat rock county") during the
Southern and Northern Dynasties . The county district was 4 km from the Sanxingping Village Committee. Now it serves as a prominent border trade and transit point forGuangdong ,Hunan andJiangxi provinces. It borders Wujiang River's eastern and northern shores.Pingshi lies at the intersection of the
Beijing -Guangzhou railroad and theWuhan -Guangzhou high-speed railway. Many times daily, trains go south toGuangzhou , north toZhengzhou , west toLanzhou and east toShanghai . Large roads that pass through Pingshi include a Beijing-Zhuhai highway, state road 107 and the 247 and 248 provincial roads. City bridges include Pingshi Bridge, Futian Bridge, Pingmei Bridge, Baisha Bridge, etc.Pingshi's
GDP is 1.6 billionyuan . Pingshi B power plant powers the leading enterprises in northern Shaoguan. Major industries of Pingshi includeChinese medicine andzirconium products. There are over 2000 private and individual enterprises.Pingshi region is rich in tourism resources. It is home to one of the eight wonders of Guangdong, "Jinji Ling" (金鸡岭, literally "Golden Goose Mountain").
Pingshi has abundant resources, honest folk customs, and leading education. It is northern Guangdong's state-level pilot area. It is also Guangdong province's only window town.
