Identity change

Identity change

Identity change describes the intentional changes of identity. The topic is of particular interest in "faceless" financial transactions and computer security (Digital identity).

There are two perspectives to consider in an instance of identity change. The hardest perspective to understand is that of the original owner of the identity. The second perspective is of the person who caused the identity to change:

# a first party. the original bearer of an identity may initiate the change
# a second party, who wishes to use the identity, may initiate the change
# a third party may initiate an identity change

In some instances, multiple parties cooperate to change an identity.

Identity change can be categorized in several ways:
*identity takeover
*identity delegation

*identity exchange

*identity creation

*identity deletion
*identity restoration

ee also

*Identity management
*Recognition of human individuals
*Witness protection
