Early years

He then played college football for the University of Maine Black Bears. Professional career

He was a prospect of the 2008 NFL Draft, but was not selected. He plays alongside former University of Maine teammate, Montell Owens.

After suffering a season ending injury during the preseason, Cotrone was waived by the Jaguars on August 4, 2008. He was added to the injured reserve list the following day.
