TerraNW (spoken "Terra Northwest") is a regional economic development, sports and tourism program built around winter sports. TerraNW connect international winter sports teams and elite athletes with sustainable training, competition and marketing opportunity as they prepare for international events, including the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Under the guidance of the
Pacific Northwest Economic Region , TerraNW partners include the Canadian provinces ofBritish Columbia andAlberta and the U.S. States ofWashington ,Oregon andIdaho .The program is patterned on Idaho's successful strategy around the
2002 Winter Olympics that included partnership with the host state ofUtah and other mountain states. A number of US and International winter sports teams did at least a portion of their pre-Games training in Idaho, particularly theSun Valley area.
