"Imaginary Playmate" is a thriller film which debuted on HBO in 2006. Dina Meyer, Rick Ravanello, Cassandra Sawtell, and Pablo Coffey starred.
Plot
Suzanne (Dina Meyer) and her young stepdaughter Molly Driscoll (Cassandra Sawtell) move into a new house, where Molly acquires an imaginary friend named Candace Brewer (Nicole Muñoz). Later, it is revealed that a girl by that name who lived in the house about a century earlier who was murdered by her insane father who killed Candances' mother and baby sister. The plot centers around whether Candace is indeed imaginary or is a malevolent ghost. She eventually takes over Molly's body and tries to kill Molly's father and to convince Molly to kill herself, but Molly decides to stay with her father and stepmother. The movie ends with a baby girl left on the doorstep of the church down the road which is meant to be a baby Candance but ends up being her baby sister Dora. It is up to the audience of what happens next.
