Alex Munro was a Scottish comedian. Born 6 March 1911,
Shettleston , Scotland, and died 20 January 1986,Llandudno , Wales, UK.Munro headlined in a number of British variety theatres over the course of his career, before eventually making his home in Llandudno, North Wales. Munro was given creative control of the
Llandudno Pier Pavilion Theatre during the 1970s. The Alex Munro Show ran at theHappy Valley, Llandudno for 30 years.Born Alexander Horsburgh in
Glasgow he joined his brother Archie and sister June in an acrobatic act named The Star Trio. After a while, the trio changed their name to The Horsburgh Brothers and Agnes and became part of Florrie Forde's great music hall company with Flanager and Allen.During World War Two he toured with the RAF show Contact and had his own BBC radio series The Size of It.
