Prostitution in Trinidad and Tobago is currently illegal and can incur a heavy prison sentence especially for human trafficking. Like in Jamaica and other Caribbean islands it has a reputation for attracting female sex tourism which some believe has contributed to the rise in AIDS on the islands.
