End of the Line (Godzilla)

End of the Line is an episode of from the second season.

Plot

Nick and Audrey are on a romantic cruise when suddenly, a giant turtle appears and capsizes the ship.

They are left stranded on an island. Godzilla senses trouble and swims out to sea, followed by the H.E.A.T. team. Nick and Audrey run into the same giant turtle, but this time they are rescued by Komodithrax, a mutant komodo dragon. Nick is intrigued at how much she resembles Godzilla. When the rest of the team and Godzilla arrive at the island, Godzilla finds Komodithrax and, instead of fighting, performs a mating dance with her. Godzilla soon becomes very attached to her, even scaring off the team to get some privacy.

When the captain of the capsized ship appears, he shows photos of Godzilla and Komodithrax with a nest and an egg. Godzilla is sterile, so Nick realizes that Komodithrax is able to fertilize her own eggs and Godzilla is playing as a surrogate father. The captain plans to destroy both of them, so the team has to lure Godzilla away from the nest for as long as possible. By using N.I.G.E.L. to play a recording of Komodithrax's roar, Godzilla believes she is in danger and swims away from the island. Meanwhile, Nick, Randy and Monique are in a helicopter trying to protect Komodithrax and the nest.

Godzilla soon realizes it was only a recording and bites N.I.G.E.L. in half and swims back to the island. The giant turtle attacks again and bites Komodithrax in the hip, weakening her, and the egg rolls down a hill. As the air strike plans to finish her off, Godzilla arrives and attacks the helicopters and, believing Komodithrax to be already dead, savagely fights the turtle. But the turtle knocks him out with its tail. While Godzilla is weak, Komodithrax rises and attacks the giant turtle. During the fight with the turtle, Komodithrax and the egg fall into a crevasse. It is unknown if they survived, while the giant turtle may have perished in the crevasse.

*The giant turtle is a reference to Gamera in his quadruped state.

*The turtle also resembles an alligator snapping turtle.

*The Komodothrax could have been a reference to Gorosaurus.
