Cristian Ciocan

Cristian Hammer (*born 1987-09-27 as "C.Ciocan") is a Romanian boxer best known for his victory at the 2006 World Junior Championships as a heavyweight.

Amateur career

At the World Juniors 2006 he fought under the name Ciocan and beat American Michael Hunter, Jr. in the semis 22:15 and Uzbek Sardor Abdullayev 39:32 in the final.

Following that win he had some promlems to establish himself as the #1 as several fighters are equally strong, Romania sent fellow junior star Bogdan Dinu to the major events 2006 and 2007.

He will not participate in the 2008 Summer Olympics; his country sent Răzvan Cojanu to the first qualifier, at the second qualifier he beat Azer Mamadov and Erkan Teper but lost to favorite David Price (boxer) 5:16 in the all-important semifinal.

He will turn pro in Germany as Cristian Hammer in 2008.
