- Kfar Yehezkel
Kfar Yehezkel ( _he. כְּפַר יְחֶזְקֵאל) is a
moshav in northernIsrael . It is located in theJezreel Valley , in theHarod Valley zone, 5 km southeast ofAfula and nearMount Gilboa . It is part of theGilboa Regional Council .Kfar Yehezkel's population is 700 inhabitants (2006). It was built on lands bought by
Yehoshua Hankin and founded in 1921 by anAhdut HaAvoda group ofJews from theSecond Aliyah , including former settlers ofTel Hai andHamara , which was evacuated because of Arab attacks from Lebanon, as the second "moshav ovdim" inPalestine (3 months afterNahalal ).First named Ayn Tib'un after the neighbouring water spring, Kfar Yehezkel got its present name from
Yehezkel Sasson , a finance minister of Jewish origin inIraq , whose brother contributed to the acquisition of the lands by Jews in the Jezreel Valley. The moshav was planned in 1922 by the architectRichard Kaufman .Notable persons from Kfar Yehezkel include the physicist
