Federal University of Petroleum Resource Effurun

The Federal University of Petroleum Resource Effurun (FUPRE) in Delta State, Nigeria was established in an effort to strengthen in Science and Technology Capacity in the Niger Delta area by the Federal Government The establishment of the University was approved at the Federal Executive Council meeting of 14 March, 2007 and admitted its first set of undergraduates in 2008.

The National Universities Commission approved resource sharing of facilities between the Petroleum Training Institute ,Effurun, with the University Until it moves to its Permanent site.The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Effurun, Delta state serves as the take-off Campus of the University.
