Susan M. Ervin-Tripp (1927 - ) is an American sociolinguist and is currently a professor emeritus at the
University of California at Berkeley . She has conducted research on child language acquisition andbilingualism among children, and has made contributions to the fields oflinguistics ,psychology ,child development ,sociology ,anthropology ,rhetoric , andwomen's studies .Works
Susan Ervin-Tripp has focused on the relation between language use and the development of linguistic forms, and the developmental changes and structure of interpersonal talk among children [Ervin-Tripp, S.
