Tafhim-ul-Quran

= Tafhim ul Quran - تفہيم القرآن: =

A translation and explanation of Quran in a very simplified language for the common man.

Tafheem is a landmark contribution to the tradition of exegesis. Moudoodi's well-thought-of methodology, and his great scholrship renders tafheem an exegesis par excellance. It is a fantastic combination of orthodox and modernist interpretation. Tafheem has influenced modern Islamic thought very deeply. It gave by far the most coherent reading of Islamic thought in the contemporary world. Tafheem is marked by Maudoodi's characteristic lucidity, argumentation, analysis and depth.

Tafheem differs from traditional exegises in several remarkable ways. It is more than a traditional commentary on the scripture. Its contains scores of discussions and debates regarding economics, sociology, history, politics etc. Maudoodi highlights Quranic perspective and argues that Islam provides ample guidance in all these spheres.

Tafhim deals extensively with issues faced by the modern materialistic world in general and Muslim Ummmah in particular. The discussions are exhaustive and elaborate.
