John David Batchelor (born 25 September 1969 in Singapore) is an Australian television and film actor. As a child, Batchelor and his family moved around frequently, as his father was an officer in the Royal Australian Army. Batchelor graduated from Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) with a degree in Performing Arts (Acting) in 1992.
Batchelor is most-well known for his role on the popular Australian drama "Sea Patrol" on which he plays Andy 'Charge' Thorpe, a role he has played since the show's premiere. Batchelor has also had guest roles on such popular Australian dramas as "All Saints", "Water Rats", "Stingers" and "Murder Call". He also appeared in the 2003 films, "Inspector Gadget 2" and "Danny Deckchair". More recently, Batchelor starred in "The Tender Hook" alongside Rose Byrne, Hugo Weaving and Pia Miranda.
