Geraldine Peers

Geraldine Peers is the main presenter of "BBC Oxford News", BBC South's local TV opt-out service for Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire & Swindon and areas of Berkshire, Northamptonshire & the Cotswolds. Peers studied communications at Leeds and contemporary culture in York before completing a postgraduate course in journalism at Birmingham University. In 1995, she joined the now-defunct "Central News South" service in her home town of Abingdon, Oxfordshire and became a reporter, presenter and bulletin editor. Peers left Central News in 2001 to join BBC South as the main presenter of South Today Oxford (now known as "BBC Oxford News") and now fronts 15-minute bulletins for the sub-region at 6:30pm from Monday to Thursday, a full 30-minute programme on Fridays, mid-afternoon updates and late bulletins after the BBC News at Ten each weekday night.
