USS "Pivot" (AM-276), an , was the first ship of the United States Navy named Pivot. She was built at the Gulf Shipbuilding Corporation,
Chickasaw, Alabama .Mrs. Clara L. Prouty christened "Pivot" on
11 November 1943 .Her trials started
12 July ,1944 in theGulf of Mexico and initial training was in theChesapeake Bay .After shakedown ended
10 September , the new minesweeper operated with theAtlantic Fleet training and patrolling until sailing for the Pacific early inApril 1945 . She transited thePanama Canal on10 April 1945 ; and after training inHawaii an waters reached the war zone in time for mine sweeping operations in theRyukyus soon after the conquest of Okinawa.She supported Admiral
Marc Mitscher 'sFast Carrier Task Force during the deadly strikes againstJapan in July and operated inKorea n waters after Japan's surrender. She returned toOkinawa late in October and resumed sweeping operations in the Ryukyus.She received four

6 November 1946 atSubic Bay ,Philippines . She was sold toTaiwan 27 August 1948 and renamed ROCS "Yung Shou". On1 July 1970 , "Yung Shou" was decommissioned.
