Momed Al Hawsawi (born 9 March 1978 in Riyadh) is an Arabic football attacking midfield/forward who is a Free Agent.

The Middle-East player began his career with Al-Hilal at just 16 years of age. However, he first started making professional football appearances when he went to Ecuadorian side LDU de Quito.

However, after returning from Ecuador he soon discovered himself rotting in the reserves due to new star Sami Al-Jaber, and only made a few appearances.

In 2001, he was selected to take part in the 2002 World Cup Qualifyers with Saudi Arabia. He made 8 appearances in the qualifying and scored just the 1. In Korea and Japan he made a further 8 appearances and scored 2 more goals. Since then, he has only returned to international duty 10 times. He scored one more goal before finally retiring from international honours in 2005. Just 27 as he retired.

In 2006, he was released from Al-Hilal and was instantly adopted on the other side of the border; Qatarese team Al Gharafa snapped him up. There he had much more success in his first season, dominating rivals Qatar SC with a fierce hat-trick.

But, a falling out with the chairman didn't help; and he rotted in the reserves in the 2006/2007 season. Then things went from bad to worse when Akwa was signed after proving well in the 2006 World Cup for Angola. At the start of the 2007/2008 he was released. Since then, he hasn't found a club.
