- Kings of Music
Kings of Music is an annual music showcase featuring prominent new talent from a wide array of genres from hip-hop, R&B, alternative rock, and spoken word poetry. The Kings of Music showcase aims to put a positive focus on young men whom are using music as a creative platform to express themselves.
History
Kings of Music started in 2005 in Toronto, Canada and was organized by a collective of individuals that wanted to show the positivity of urban youth, specifically to that of young men, as at the time, gun violence was plaguing the city of Toronto which created even more animosity and disdain for the urban young man as the media portrayed that 'urban music' was to blame.
Now, Kings of Music is owned and operated by Grande Junction Entertainment which is an event planning and artist development firm. With the success of Kings of Music, Queens of Music was launched in 2007 to promote the positivity that exists amongst young urban females.
