The Atlanta Film Festival is an international
film festival held inAtlanta , Georgia. The festival started in 1977 and takes place every April.The Landmark Midtown Art Cinema is the official venue of the festival, with most films being shown there every year. The Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 16 Theater has also served as an official opening night venue.
Move to Landmark Midtown Art Cinema
In 2007, the festival partnered with the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema to centrally locate the festival in Midtown, dubbed the Heart of Atlanta’s Arts and home to a wide array of restaurants, bars and shops. Making the change allowed attending filmmakers and audience members more opportunities to interact and to attend the myriad of panels, screenplay readings, film discussions and parties that accompany the fest.
