Susan Hubbard is an American creative writing professor at the
University of Central Florida [ [http://www.english.ucf.edu/faculty.php/ UCF English Department: Faculty and Staff Information] ] and awriter who has written 6 single-authored fiction books, one of which won the Associated Writing Program Prize for Short Fiction [ [http://www.cce.umn.edu/mentoring/mentors/SHubbard.html Split Rock Arts Program Online Mentoring for Writers profile] ] and another which won theJanet Heidinger Kafka Prize [ [http://www.rochester.edu/College/WST/SBAI/recipients.html Online List of Award Recipients] ] for best prose book by an American woman published in 1999.She has co-edited a fiction anthology, "100% Pure Florida Fiction" and has written 30 short stories in nationally and internationally circulated journals, including Ploughshares, TriQuarterly, and The Mississippi Review. Her writing has been published in Australia, England, France, Germany, Holland, Indonesia, Italy, Spain, and Taiwan, and has been taught across America and in the United Kingdom.

Hubbard has also received teaching awards from Syracuse University, Cornell University, the University of Central Florida, and the South Atlantic Administrators of Departments of English. She has been a Writer in Residence at Georgia State College and University, Milledgeville, GA; Armstrong Atlantic University, Savannah, Ga; Pitzer College, Claremont, CA; and The National Writer's Voice, Tampa.
Hubbard has received residencies at Yaddo, the Djerassi Resident Artists' Project, the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, and Cill Rialaig. In 2001-02, she served as President of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP).
