Václav Cílek

Václav Cílek

Václav Cílek (born 1955 in Brno) is Czech Republic geologist and science popularizer.

In his youth he lived in Tanzania and in Příbram. Studied geology at Charles University in Prague. Since then he works in "Geologic Institute of Czech Academy of Sciences" and specializes on geology of Cenozoic Era. He also explores interactions between environment and civilization.

Cílek also published several popularization books and many articles in journals and newspapers. His TV series about caves of the Czech Republic were very popular among viewers.Fact|date=July 2008
