"Is This Love?" is the name of the initial demo tape recorded by now-famous alternative rock band, Cake. It contains two songs.

History and Recording

Cake was formed in 1991 by vocalist/songwriter John McCrea, guitarist Greg Brown, trumpeter Vince DiFiore, bassist Shon Meckfessel and drummer Frank French. The group began to record material, two songs, "Is This Love?" and "You Part the Waters" later became the track listing to bands demo tape. The tape was circulated among fans of the band and record labels. Finally, the band was signed with Capricorn Records. The demo was later re-released to promote the bands debut album.
