He is a product of West Hartlepool Rugby Club junior academy.

Club Career
He played for Newcastle Falcons before switching to Leicester Tigers for the 2011/12 season.[3]
International Career
In November 2008 Young represented England national rugby union team (sevens) in Dubai and South Africa.
In January 2010 Young was selected for the England Saxons. In May 2009 Young represented England Sevens at Twickenham and scored the winning try against New Zealand in the final of the Emirates Airline London Sevens.[4] He also played for the Saxons in the last ever Churchill Cup campaign, in the summer of 2011.[5]
