Concord Banking Company was established on November 18, 1903 to serve the banking needs of Concord, Georgia. The first president was CT Smith, followed by RH Strickland. In 1971, Concord Banking Company became the first bank to have a drive thru window in Pike County, Georgia. It remained a one location institution until May 1981, when a new branch opened in Zebulon, Georgia, and renamed Commercial Bank Of Pike County.
On July 7, 1983, the bank merged with Commercial Bank And Trust Company in Griffin, Georgia. In November 1987, the bank was acquired by First Union Bank in Atlanta and is now in the process of becoming Wells Fargo.
The original Concord and Zebulon branches are now closed.
