Simeon Van Akin

Simeon Van Akin

Simeon Van Akin (October 14, 1842 - ?) was a State Senator from Michigan.

He was born in Hudson, Michigan to parents who were among the pioneers of Michigan, having settled in the Tiffin River Valley before Michigan became a state.cite book|title=Michigan Biographies|url=http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/cgi-bin/ptext?doc=Perseus:text:2000.03.0129&query=div%3D%231621] At the age of nineteen, he enlisted in the Union Army during the American Civil War, serving as a sharpshooter.
