Visifire is a set of open source data visualization components powered by Microsoft Silverlight. [http://www.visifire.com/ Visifire] can be used to create and embed interactive charts into web pages or Silverlight Application. It is independent of the sever side technology being used. So Visifire can be used with ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, JSP, ColdFusion, Ruby on Rails or just simple HTML with JavaScript.

Visifire is open source and has been released under the GNU General Public License. Customers for whom GPL is not an option, [http://webyog.com/en/about_webyog.php Webyog] provides non-GPL commercial licenses.

History

Visifire development was started during the early release of Silverlight 1.1 Alpha by Microsoft. As the next release of Silverlight was directly Silverlight 2.0 beta, it was ported to Silverlight 2.0.

Platforms

As Visifire is developed on Silverlight, it runs on all Platforms supported by Silverlight. Currently Silverlight supports Mac and Windows. Linux version of Silverlight (Moonlight) is under development and is expected to be released by the end of 2008.
