The Grindletonians were a small nonconformist Christian dissenting
sect founded atGrindleton , inYorkshire (now inLancashire ,England in the early part of the seventeenth century.The group's most influential leader was
Roger Brearley (or Brierley, Brereley) (1586-1637), acurate who worked at Grindleton,Kildwick andBurnley .The beliefs of the sect seem to have included
Antinomianism ,anti-clericalism and the concept of an earthlyParadise . They also emphasised the importance of the indewelling of theHoly Spirit and espoused the idea of theHoly Bible as a starting point.ee also
